What is Shiatsu & Trigger Points?

Shiatsu & Trigger points therapy is a therapeutical-style massage technique combining knowledge from two distinct healing arts. The original Shiatsu is a Japanese healing tradition which focuses on Tsubo vital/acupressure points, while Trigger Points focuses on energy lines and stretching positions. Aspects of both of these arts are combined together for Shiatsu & Trigger Points Therapy, which can be used to treat lower-back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, chronic headaches, and many other symptoms.

Prerequisite: This course is open to students who already have some previous massage experience (any type)

Upon completing this course, therapists will be able to provide therapeutic Thai Healing Art Massage sessions, which should be around 20–30 minutes and focus on alleviating pain in one specific area at a time.  This course is open to all interested students, but having some previous massage experience will be helpful.

The picture left shows a unique Shiatsu & Triger Points therapy position in which the therapist is stretching the hamstring, while also focusing on the Tsubo vital/Trigger points above the knee. Combining these movements allows for a deeper penetration of the energy lines, as the quadricep is relaxed as a result of the hamstring stretch.

Recommended For All Thai Yoga Massage Practitioners

Although this class focuses on techniques for How to release the mucle tension, it should not be considered only for Thai yoga massage practitioners, as the methods explored are applicable for many  types of healing arts. You will learn how to find the Trigger Points in your clients body, and how to release the tension. also we will study Anatomy and Kinesiology to improve your massage session.
