Thai Yoga Massage – Advanced Course

The Thai Yoga Massage Advanced Course prepares you to give an effective and complete 2.5-hour, full-body Thai Yoga Massage. There are several positions for an effective Thai Yoga Massage session. Some positions can enable the massage therapist to work deep inside the energy lines. The aim of this course is to enable you to know how to use various positions for effective massage. The Thai Yoga Massage taught at the Thai Healing Art School International is a unique form, which combines ancient Thai healing traditions with functional anatomy, deep-tissue massage and trigger-point therapy.

The primary aim of the Thai Yoga Massage techniques and Balance Ball Yoga exercises taught Thai Healing Art School International is to evaluate and work with imbalances in the body. In this way the focus of study at the school is developing an anatomical approach to realignment of the body, rather than just relaxation.

Thai Yoga Massage Advanced Course - Quality of Touch and Effective Yogic Stretching

In this Thai Yoga Massage Advanced Course, we instruct you to how to touch and feel clients’ energy flow more deeply using several specific positions to be able to meet clients’ individual needs. Some positions enable you to go deeper without causing the client discomfort or pain, and at this level you will feel the energy flow is stuck in the body. These ‘stuck’ points in the body are known in the Western world as stiff muscles or trigger points and you learn several techniques to release them and open the energy flow. Various positions are taught so that you can relax isolated areas of the client’s body in order to go deeper into the muscle and fully understand the direction and rhythm of pressure on the energy lines. In Thai Yoga Massage, there are many yogic stretching positions to use with the client during a session. Understanding the direction of muscle fibres, functional anatomy and kinetics will enhance your skills as a massage therapist.

When you go deep inside the energy lines, you may feel stiff muscles and/or trigger points. There are various effective positions for releasing tension in these areas. The massage style taught in this school is based on Functional Anatomy so you can find those Trigger Points and stiff muscles with the use of several Thai yoga massage positions. This new approach was engineered to place importance on a smooth and gradual approach to finding trigger points and stiff muscles. At this advanced level you study several sequences of stretches for more flexibility as a practitioner. These stretches are designed in a step-by-step format; this enables you to work in accordance with an individual client’s ROM (Range Of Motion) and level of flexibility.
